HAPPY VETERANS DAY - Ladypanther - 11-11-2025 RE: HAPPY VETERANS DAY - PantherFan007 - 11-12-2025 Thank you, LP!  And thanks to all the Veterans out there! Me, "back in the day" RE: HAPPY VETERANS DAY - Hobbit99 - 11-12-2025 Thanks LP --- And to everyone who ever wore the uniform. May you find love and peace in all that you do. As a separate "thing".... Who here can admit to knowing the original reason for Veteran's Day?? What was it about..?? What was it called..?? Don't look it up.... It's OK if you don't know or can't remember. Most folks around today don't know. HINT:  11-11-1918 That's right. Originally called "Armistice Day". It was named for the day that WW1 ended. Proclaimed an official holiday in 1954 in the United States. Interestingly, Armistice Day is also celebrated in parts of Europe (particularly the UK). The name was subsequently changed to Veteran's Day here in the U.S. and "Remembrance Day" in the UK.
