NEW DT -- PANTHERS TRADE FOR TeRah EDWARDS - Hobbit99 - 08-30-2026
As the countdown approached for the 53 roster cuts, the Panthers consummated a trade with the Chargers. The Panthers picked up DT TeRah Edwards from the Chargers and gave up a 2028 6th round pick. There may be more involved in the trade that has not yet been announced.

The team has traded for defensive tackle TeRah Edwards. The move came just ahead of final roster cutdowns. As part of the trade, the Panthers sent Los Angeles a 2028 sixth-round pick.
Edwards was an undrafted free agent who signed with the Chargers ahead of the 2025 season, after five years with Illinois.
The defensive tackle didn't appear in a regular-season game in 2025, but had an interception in the '25 preseason.
He played in all three games during the 2026 preseason and finished with 10 tackles.
Panthers Make Trade For DT With Chargers

Of all the moves yesterday—- this is the one that REALLY SURPRISED me.
I just can’t figure this out. It’s not like Dan to trade away a draft pick. Especially for a …. ???? I don’t know, whatever this guy is..???
I’m flummoxed…..
Maybe it’s a “conditional” pick..???
Like, say, he has to make the team and be on the roster for a certain time period, or the pick trade defaults back to the Panthers…??
I don’t know. I’m grasping at straws here …..

I'm sure we'll get more details once the ink dries, but for Dan to go out of his way to get the guy, he must have seen something noteworthy about him.

Yep…. I’m sure that Dan had something in mind.
I just remember multiple times over the past couple of years Dan repeatedly saying we “didn’t want to give up draft picks “.
So… Kinda makes you wonder….??
