This is some GREAT news!
Panthers drop big news on the Week 7 status of WR Jalen Coker
Carolina Panthers wideout Jalen Coker is on the doorstep of his highly-anticipated return.
On Wednesday, the second-year receiver—for a fourth straight session—was listed as a full participant in practice. Coker, who began the regular season on injured reserve, missed the first six games of the campaign due to a quad strain and could suit up as soon as Sunday.
And, according to head coach Dave Canales, that's indeed the plan.
Canales told reporters this afternoon that he expects Coker to play in the team's upcoming matchup against the New York Jets.
"Coker looked great today," Canales stated following the workout. "Had a fantastic practice. And we're just gonna look at him again tomorrow. It'll be a little more high-mileage, high-speed mileage tomorrow—it's our big third-down day. So that'll be the real test to see where we're going into weekend."
Coker was designated to return to practice last week. He was initially deemed questionable for the Week 6 outing against the Dallas Cowboys, but was downgraded out of the contest the day prior.
