Common theme that's been bothering me...

I have seen many articles, videos, and games for that matter where the Panthers have struggled to start fast.  This has been going on for quite a while.  It's always the same story... "blah blah blah, we gotta start faster, blah blah blah" only to not show up until midway through the second quarter, if at all; and sometimes not until the second half.  Who do we have to hire, or who do we have to draft to change that mentality?  Our team doesn't EVER seem to play a full 4 quarter game.  The most recent quote talked about Canales saying "We started the day rough, but as it went on, our guys settled down, and started to play well"

They are in the FREAKING NFL.  They are where EVERY boy playing pop warner DREAMS of going.  They are where every kid who does not get drafted after playing their whole life would give up everything for.  And you mean to tell me that during practice, they have to "settle down" as the day goes on?  That's a load of bull.  They are supposed to be professional football players.  If they don't show up to work (I believe Practice is where the money should be made, and gameday be where the showoff happens) then what the heck are they even doing here?  

We have NEVER had a back to back winning season.  EVER.  In 30 years.  Never.  We are the ONLY team to do that in recent history.  The cardinals did it in the early-mid 1900's.  

This team hasn't established a true culture, ever.  It's exhausting looking at the same crap.

Even to those who are saying ‘chill, it’s just preseason’ , I say you play like you practice.

Coaches , who is calling these plays ? Even in preseason you don’t do the same things they aren’t working,, that’s on offense and defense.

Coaches, look over your shoulder,, Sean McDermott already lives in Charlotte.
You’re coaching for your jobs too. This b/s of slow starts and not changing those plays that start a game is on you. “ oh, let’s surprise them and start by running off tacked ( shocking ? )

I pretty much agree with what you said except for I think we have developed or established our true culture. However, it is one of acceptance and not one of competition and winning. We are what we are and we are this way for a reason... we created it and continue to support it.

It is what it is and it needs change.

I try really hard to buy into the "It's only preseason" theme, but I want our team to play competitively ANY time they are on the field. I never accept losing, rather it be at football or anything else.

Agreed...

The whole "feel good" spiel is just too much to banter around continuously. I much prefer plain talk.  Just tell it like it is.!!  The object of playing football (ANY competitive sport, really..) is to win. Finishing in second place, whether in a season or a single game, is just another way to say "First Loser".

I'm tired of being part of the downtrodden. I no longer want to be associated with the Great Unwashed, or McNamara's 100,000. It's time for the Panthers to step out and step up. No more BS, no more excuses. It's time to play football to win. If a player (OR COACH..!!) doesn't have that attitude, then it's time to hit the road.!!

Another thing to add, we’ve been “rebuilding the defense to a 3-4” for YEARS. It’s not working.
