My Apologies, Folks! (Gameday Thread)

I have been swamped at work the past seven weeks and this week was no different.  I completely believed, for whatever reason, that the game last night was set for Saturday at 1 pm.   That's why there was no "Gameday Thread".   Had it not been for me checking the Panthers website before turning in last night, I would have completely missed the game.  Thankfully, I could the last two minutes before halftime and the second half and watched it this morning while having my coffee. 

That is the first time in twenty-three years that I have errantly missed (or almost missed) a Panthers game.   

At any rate, there were a lot of good things to see at least in the second half, and there are going to be some tough and heartbreaking decisions to be made over the next couple of weeks.

Lots of players made positive impressions. After listening to the Charlotte media and Panther beat writers for a week after the Disasterous Buffalo game, and hearing some of the names they thought weren’t going to make the team… they’re going to have to reevaluate those thoughts. John Metchie III was catching everything thrown his way ( again). Jaycee Horn was balling out .
Starters won’t play next week,, I’m hoping Haynes King will be able to play in the game against the Texans .

YEP...

The next couple of weeks are critical. Making these roster decisions is an important task, and one that I am happy to leave to someone else.


You have to wonder about the RB room with multiple guys showing up and Chuba Hubbard being hurt... somewhat... a little... ???? And of course with JB running on an errant knee that no one knows how long will hold up. The WRs have been in a turmoil since last season ended and it will come to a head soon, very soon. The TE room has been reinforced (for NOW at least) with the acquisition of Darren Waller. TT is showing up (as he has for the past couple of years) and Mitchell Evans who has proven to be an able rotation piece. That leaves you wondering about Ja"Tavion Sanders.... especially with Feleipe Franks now apparently back in the good graces.

Add in Safety extraordinaire Tre'Von Moehrig moving (apparently..??) up to the ILB position (Hmmm,  does this remind you of anyone?? - Like TD maybe..???) , and you have to wonder about Cherelus and Wallace along with Cam Gill, Jackson Kuwatch, and Bam Martin-Scott. Then add in the QB position, with all of the attendant issues and the job of molding a 53 roster becomes a Herculean task.!!!

Gosh ... It makes my head hurt just to think about it.!!!
