Here’s something I just thought about posting.  To keep it from beating dead horses, here’s something I hope to see of in fact the season doesn’t go as well as we hope.  Yall go ahead and say your piece too, I’m interested in what you really think, not the talking heads.

If the season doesn’t go as planned: I hope we move on from Ejiro Evero. He has a great pedigree as a DC, but the 3-4 hasn’t been working here at all. Our team tanks historically as a 3-4.  We never had the personnel for it, and we haven’t been able to afford the personnel to get it. I’m also tired of getting okayish players he’s familiar with (Jewell) who aren’t up to snuff when there are so many holes.  I can’t wait for our defense to have feared linebackers again. I’m a fan of the 4-3, and I believe a defense is more versatile in a 4-3.  I feel defenses require more playmakers that we cannot afford in a 3-4.

It’s not really pessimism, per se, just I don’t see anything our defense has done that has proven to be anything special.  We will waste the rookie contracts on potentially great offense players because we can’t cover a bed.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m hoping for the best, but I don’t know.

Wonder who will have the worst record this year?

Also, I am not against the 3-4 but I do believe we have done a horrible job in acquiring/drafting the players to fit that scheme. Finally addressed it slightly this draft (not free agency) but that will take a little time to develop. I would put the “blame” on the front office rather than the DC. Just my opinion.
