I think we’re living and playing on the edge. If everything goes perfectly, we compete and sometimes win. But when something goes wrong, as it frequently does in the NFL, we fall apart and lose all semblance of a professional team. It’s like the team spirit just deflates like an old leaky balloon and we collapse. There is no sense of ownership from the players. No spirit. No Esprit de Corps.
There is definitely something missing here — and THIS IS NOT A TEPPER PROBLEM. Sure, Tepper has his own brand of problems, but this is different. This is a TEAM-BUILDING thing. The Panthers have been like this for a decade. Someone needs to inject a sense of pride into the morale of this team. Until this team learns to play for one another and for the TEAM, they will remain just a loose-knit bunch of ragamuffin guys in search of the almighty dollar.
