In a recent ranking list, the starting NFL QBs were ranked from worst to best.
Leading off at #32 is CAM WARD. Hmm..??

Bryce Young comes in at #24 -- so that means there are eight (8) QBs worse than him right now. I was amazed, so I read through the list. Here for your reading pleasure are the eight QBs worse (supposedly..) than Bryce.

#32 -- Cam Ward
#31 -- Sam Darnold
#30 -- Mac Jones
#29 -- Marcus Mariota
#28 -- Joe Flacco
#27 -- Jake Browning  ..... WhoTH is Jake Browning.??
#26 -- Carson Wentz
#25 -- Spencer Rattler

#24 -- Bryce Young

As a point of reference, Russel Wilson is #22, Tua Tagovailoa is #20, CJ Stroud is #19, Dax Prescott is #15, Bo Nix is #12, Kyler Murray is #9, Baker Mayfield is #7, and the #1 ranked QB is Josh Allen (rightfully so). Sprinkled throughout the list are other notables like Aaron Rodgers, Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, Trevor lawrence, and Justin Herbert -- (and others...).

Hard to believe that there are eight QBs worse than BY.. ???

4 of those worse than Bryce are backups.

Nice info but a slight caveat they left void. Bryce “picked up” so much of his completions and yardage after the Cardinals went up 27-3 and went into the dreaded prevent defensive scheme, that is until the Panthers cut it to five and then he hit a brick wall. Personally I was more impressed with what the defense was doing than what the Cards were giving us .We and Young was also assisted by the stupid penalties Arizona was picking up. Hadwe done anything on that final drive, which we didn’t, imo people would have been talking about the game the Cardinals gave away instead of the game the Panther won, at least to a high degree.

Yeah, the whole game pretty much sucked. It was not an impressive performance.

I think that this ranking/listing has a lot to do with injuries and the resulting changes in starting QB roles.  Here is the statement that accompanies the listing.

Quote:"The role of an NFL starting quarterback is the most demanding in professional sports, and the gap between the best and the rest can define an entire season. This is our official NFL Week 3 ranking of all 32 signal-callers, a list that blends statistical analysis with an added layer of game-by-game projection. After a NFL Thursday Night Football clash between Josh Allen and Tua Tagovailoa that was a bit of what we expected, a series of injuries have rocked Week 3 and we had to update our rankings to reflect that going into Sunday. Here are the NFL Starting Quarterbacks Ranked Worst to Best From All 32 Teams."

OK.....

So, LP is correct when she says there are four backups on the list ahead of (below..) Bryce Young -- although the list is correct as far as Week 3 is concerned.

49ers - Purdy is injured but Mac Jones is a known quantity as a starter. Commanders - Jayden Daniels is injured but Mariota has also been a starter previously. Bengals - Joe Burrow is injured (I still don't know WhoTH Jake Browning is..). Vikings - JJ McCarthy is injured but Carson Wentz is also a former starter of some repute.

So, if these four were NOT playing would the original starters be a noticeable improvement - enough to bump BY further down the list..??? My guess would be YES. So that means that BY is more likely to be around the 28th QB instead of 24th. Which makes more sense.....

Good catch, LP  Wink

Until Bryce proves otherwise, I can't feel "offended" by him being ranked low. Even with the win yesterday, he still shows improvements are greatly needed every game going forward.

EXACTLY...

The Atlanta game was almost entirely a DEFENSIVE win. Any time you hold another team scoreless, it only takes a Safety or FG to win. No Offense needed (luckily - thankfully -- because we didn't have much).
