This kid is gonna make a LOT of folks hate themselves for not drafting him.  I never saw much of his college games, but I have since watched a lot of his highlights.  And, can I say that he had a highlight reel last night?  I know it was only preseason, and I know it was only the Hall of Fame Game, and yada yada yada, but you can't fake arm strength, accuracy, and decision making.  He was "King" of all three last night.

21 of 34 passes for 180 yards, two passing touchdowns, and added three rushes for 39 yards and a game-winning 5-yard rushing touchdown as time expired    Worship Worship Worship

In my opinion, he looked better than Kenny Pickett by a long shot.

And cudos to Carson Beck.  The kid looks "as advertised".  I think the Cardinals have their franchise quarterback.

I don't know....

YES, I admit that First (FC) was first with his praise for Haynes King. And I also admit That King "looked the part" last night in his first game. It says a lot that he came out ready to play and showed a lot of poise. I ALSO admit that I am happy to have him on the squad. I think he definitely has a future here.

NOW -- For the rest of it ..... I actually thought that Kenny Pickett played a good game too. The big difference (in perception) was because King played a LOT more snaps than Pickett and King played the last part of the game - which is the part we all want to remember. ALSO - Haynes King can (and will) take off with the ball and make something happen. We'll see how he fares against higher caliber defensive players.

Having said all of that --- I think Carson Beck was the big winner last night. That boy can THROW the ball.!! Big boy; BIG arm; and very accurate. Behind a good O-Line, he's going to be really dangerous. He reminds me a LOT of Josh Allen when he first came out. Not scared of anything and puts the ball downfield to open receivers AND throws receivers open (puts the ball into holes where there is no receiver, but where a receiver can go and get the ball...).  Yep, Carson Beck was the real winner here (IMO).

GOOOOO Panthers.!!

NOW, I have to go and do a little research

I loved watching this guy at GaTech.  He is a gamer.  I loved the energy he came into the game with. That was the first difference I noticed between King and Pickett.

Thanks for posting the presser. King seems very mature, humble, and personable. He looks like a keeper...Dan will not be able to stash in on the practice squad.

I thought King had a great game .  Other than the missed opportunity on a TD pass he looked sharp with some real NFL throws . Nice reads on his runs. Yes, he was playing against non first team players. And with non first team players .

Many of us wrote we were excited on picking him up as a non drafted free agents.
We also commented on Parker Peterson, ( peter Parker picked a peck etc ). He played and had a solo tackle.
Aaron Hall , DT out of Duke played 23 snaps and registered no statistics. ,, not sure that’s good ,, maybe they were scared of him and he was double teamed and ran all running plays away from him.  I doubt it .

I’m not good a grading 2-4 th team players .

Carson Beck looked good.  If in was Az I’d name him number 1 and not let him play much more in preseason.

Play calling by both teams was a little bit more wide open than I expected.

Do we keep a fullback like Dillion .  We can’t Tush Push

Another gem I noticed with Metchie III. He had a good game and very well can plug right into where Chris Brazzell was supposed to be.

Also, I have seen several comparisons of Haynes King to Brock Purdy. That game got him a lot of attention, and I agree, LP, Dan Morgan can't stash him on the practice squad.

Mitchie III did have a very good game.  Seemed like he had more than 3 receptions.

I’m sure most of you have seen Haynes King suffered a hamstring injury at some point.
Hopefully he’ll be back soon ..we know how hamstrings can be.
