And from all reports, and I have seen several, they got after us and our offense looked and I quote miserable. Wonder what we will see come Friday, today report is very very discouraging.

Dominating is the new buzz word. And BY got sacked 4 times, four times in a practice.

Carolina’s offense in particular got overwhelmed by a Houston pass rush that knocked the Panthers offensive line back like it was playing on roller skates. Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter, Houston’s bookend edge rushers, had their way against every offensive tackle they faced, with rookie Monroe Freeling at right tackle and Rasheed Walker at left tackle both having tough days. Hunter, by some counts in a practice where the quarterback isn’t actually tackled, had at least four sacks. With little time to throw, Young had barely any luck against Houston’s secondary.

Canales didn’t try to sugarcoat things, saying it was a “lopsided” outing by the first-team offense against the Texans’ starting defense. It was an especially rough day for rookie offensive tackle Monroe Freeling, who allowed at least four of the sacks and looked helpless against the edge-rushing duo of Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter, who combined for 27 sacks last season.

Young, who was sacked seven times and intercepted twice by a Houston defense that was the NFL’s best in 2025. Plays were blown dead Wednesday before the Texans could take Young down.

Sorry I had originally read BY was sacked 4 times and now I see it was actually seven. My bad, no his OL bad and himself bad.

Sounds like the day just got worse as it went along.

I heard it was not pretty (on our part) and that the Texans' Defense dominated the day.

My fantasy drafts start tomorrow. So looking forward to getting BY on all my teams. This team is destined to go to the moon with this recent number one overall steal. Can you imagine, ABC's first ever Super Bowl and BY's first ever Super Bowl. It's like a love story coming together.

The thing that gets me is that Bryce didn't look "all that great" in the preseason, while Kenny Pickett really came on as the preseason games progressed. Kenny will be a lot more polished the first game of the regular season than Bryce Young because Bryce hasn't played that much at all. And, it makes a difference folks. It really does.

You're right...

Kenny Pickett has had a good pre-season. Maybe a lot better than everyone realizes. I'm NOT talking about PFF ratings here. Sorry folks ... I just don't put all of my eggs in the PFF basket. Numbers are great ... up to a point. One of those points is the algorithm  they use to develop their measurements. WE (the great unwashed) know little or nothing about how they arrive at their numbers. So... there's that...

Anyway, Pickett has been effective on the field and I'm happy that we have him. I think I'll do a journalism.....(maybe). Comparisons are always fun.!!
