This is a good video of yesterday's interview with Jake Delhomme about Bryce young and the young receiving corps.  I LOL'd when Jake said in reference to the receivers' height, "We are pretty when we get off the bus"  Fblaugh

And Jake makes some very valid points about Bryce.  We want it now and we want it delivered, but sometimes it takes time for a quarterback to develop into a really good quarterback.

And, while we're at it, can we at least give Bryce Young a good ole pat on the back?  The kid has SEVEN TOUCHDOWNS in two games.

Well, the only thing I'll say at this point is: BY looks a lot better than this time last year. But two games do not a season make.!!  AND, while BY may have 7 TDs on paper, I'm more inclined to give credit where due rather than heaping more praise on an as yet UNPROVEN quarterback. As far as I'm concerned, Bryce is just doing what ANY competent NFL QB would do. Nothing special to be sure. When he starts averaging 3 TDs per game and 300 yds per game for let's say, TEN games and 70% completions with NO stupid mistakes or turnovers ..... THEN we can anoint him as much improved.

However, OTOH, the difference from early last year to now is certainly worth noting.!! And does indeed give me pause enough for hopeful, watchful waiting.  SO -- There's that.....!!  Thumbsup

So, we'll give him an "attaboy" and hold the GOAT press releases for at least a couple of years. After all, ... A 'magnificent' QB should have, AT A MINIMUM, a winning record, dontcha think.??

If he does that hobbit, go ahead and get his gold jacket ready cause that’s NEVER been done. Not by Peyton, Brady, Brees, Montana, young, or anyone.

Well. while my 'tongue-in-cheek' discourse is perhaps a little over-wrought, the IDEA is sound. IMHO..!! This is his fourth year and he has been a dismal #1 pick -- wouldn't you say.??

So, I would welcome a 4000 yard season, far fewer batted passes, MUCH better completion percentages, and fewer turnovers. AND, even if he managed that for a whole season, THAT certainly would NOT put him in the conversation as a "GREAT" QB.!! He'll need to "prove it" for multiple years to even be mentioned in the same breath as the ones you mentioned.!!!  Two games do NOT make a season. AND two (or three, or four..) good seasons do NOT make a HOF career.!!!

BY has a LOOOONG way to go.  And truthfully, after his start in this league, I seriously doubt that he has enough years left to make a HOF style impact.   Just keeping it real...

Oh, I don’t believe he’ll make the HOF. I’m going off of what you said of averaging 3 tds and 300+ yards no one has ever done that. The BY we’ve seen so far this season is much better than the previous 3, but I’m not ready to crown him. I’m just happy he’s playing ball, finally. I don’t care if they put Sir Purr back there— if he can play. But I don’t like being down on people who are actively showing they’re trying to get better.

As for a terrible number 1 pick? Remains to be seen, but definitely not a great one. And it’s not like anyone else in that draft really are doing anything. He’s doing better than any other QB from 2023 draft, CJ included. Cj has regressed a good bit.

I’m not back on the Bryce bandwagon, yet. But I definitely like what I’m seeing. His 2nd TD pass to Darren Waller on Sunday was a thing of beauty.
