PANTHERS DROP WR AND ADD WR - PS NET GAIN/LOSS = "0"

Today (Tuesday), the Panthers have added another WR to the roster (PS really..).The name should be familiar to most Panther fans as he has been here previously. Ihmir Smith-Marsette was with the Panthers back in 2023. Back then he was a return specialist and I suspect he will return to that "job" when it all shakes out. This past week the Panthers used Jalen Coker as a returner, but I suspect they would like to take him off of that duty. With Trevor Etienne on the IR list (at least for now..), It makes sense that someone should take his place. Anyway, I THINK (probably) that Smith-Marsette will be a standard elevation on game day this week and next week and probably the week after as well. Whether he "sticks" will depend on how effective he is I imagine. Trevor Etienne is not eligible to return until the week after the bye, and THAT would depend on IF he was ready.

Anyway, Smith-Marsette was a decent returner when he was here, playing in all 17 games. Have to wait and see if he still has the goods.

To make room for him, the Panthers released WR EJ Williams.
