They cut Trevon Wallace?? I thought they were talking about him and Cherelus vying for the #1 starting position?

STRANGE ….. isn’t it.??

NOW… What if Okereke doesn’t happen for some reason.? Suppose he doesn’t pass the pre-physical, or maybe he decides he doesn’t want to play in Charlotte, or maybe he decides to retire.??? What kind of fallout would that incur.??
Boy…. What a mess.!!! I suspect that Wallace will be grabbed on Monday when the waiver wire opens. The Panthers ILB group would be in complete disarray. BAM Martin-Scott on IR, Okereke not signed, Wallace gone. Can you imagine the scramble..???? Who would play Inside.? We have Cherelus, but no one else to rotate in for him or Lloyd.???

UGH… Sick Depressed Fumble

You know… Hmm.??? It occurs to me that just maybe they REALLY ARE thinking about moving Moehrig up from Safety….?????
That would make sense in a cautious sort of way. With Lathan Ransom back there, it certainly could happen. I think we’re better situated for Cover-2 or 2-High than at ILB. And it would be a lot easier to find a cover guy on our roster than an ILB….????????
Hmmmm.. Huh

Did BY make the 53? Okay, my humor for the day.

This however is concerning:

Head coach Dave Canales was asked about Brooks following this morning's session.

"JB's got a little soreness," Canales told reporters. "I won't get into specifics right now.

He didn't practice with the team, spent time with trainers on the sideline.

My fault...I put him on my fantasy team as a back up.

definitely concerning.  Its tough for running backs to come back from multiple knee injuries.  tougher still for one who's experience is still "rookie"

I'm hoping it's not his knee.

This might be a last ditch effort for Jonathan Brooks.  I loved the kid coming out of college but was worried about the injury.  Once he got here and was injured about every time he hit the field (what, two ... maybe three games?), I thought then that he was going to have a hard time making it "back" to his former level of play.

Today's update:

Carolina Panthers running back Jonathon Brooks has been sidelined for the first two practices following the NFL cut-down deadline. But coach Dave Canales doesn't seem too concerned about the third-year running back's status for the Week 1 matchup against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, Sept. 13.

"I'm very optimistic he'll be available for Week 1," Canales said Wednesday.

Brooks has been dealing with "soreness," Canales said Tuesday, but the coach wouldn't specify the location of his current discomfort. Brooks, who is coming off back-to-back ACL surgeries in his right knee, participated in the entire training camp and two preseason games this summer with little issue

Now it looks like Brooks will miss the first game. Not feeling good at all about this situation.
